5 People’s lives are over in a flash, in a few dozen years. Looking back, they recollect their lives: going to school, working, getting married, having children, awaiting death, their whole lives spent busily rushing around for the sake of family, money, status, fortune and prestige, utterly devoid of the true direction and objectives of human existence, and unable to find any value or meaning in being alive. So people live generation after generation in this painful and empty way. Why are people’s lives so painful and empty? And how can the pain and emptiness of human existence be resolved?
6 If we do not believe in God, and are merely virtuous, doing good and committing no evil, will we be saved by God?
7 It is good to believe in God, but I think all religions teach people to be good people. So no matter which religion people believe in, as long as they are sincere and commit no evil, surely they will be saved by God?
8 I believe there is a God, but I’m still young, I have to work hard for my family and my career, and there’s still so much I want to do. Will I still be saved if I wait until I’m old and have the time to believe in God?
9 Some people think that believing in God means being committed to attending church on Sundays, making donations and being charitable, and regularly attending church activities. They believe that by doing these things, they can be saved. Are such views in line with God’s will?

12 I’m a new believer; I’ve just accepted God’s new work. Since I usually have to work and I’m also busy with housework, I don’t have much time to read God’s words. I’m concerned that the time I have for my faith is too short and that I’m not equipped with the truth. Once God’s work comes to an end, if I still haven’t achieved dispositional change, will God cast me aside?
13 By reading the Book of Job, I have learned that Job feared God and shunned evil. He triumphed over Satan’s temptations and attacks, stood firm in his testimony, and so received God’s blessings. I would like to know: How should I pursue in order to attain fear of God and shunning of evil?
14 People live for the sake of fame, fortune, food, clothing, enjoyment. After they have been busy their entire lives, it all comes to nothing. I just want to know how to live before we can have a life with value and meaning.
15 In real life, every time I face unfortunate events such as setbacks or illnesses, I would think God has forsaken me and no longer protects me, and thereby I sink into negativity and lose my faith in God. Isn’t this view not in line with God’s intention? How can it be turned around?
16 I have always thought that believing in God is simply a matter of reading God’s words and attending meetings; it is enough to hold God within my heart and I don’t have to take my faith seriously. So I have spent a significant amount of time and effort working hard to provide for my family, and have never been a pursuer of the truth. Now it is obvious the disasters are getting worse. I am worried: If I keep believing in God this way, will I be abandoned by God and swept up in the disasters?
